ADVANCED WINTER COURSE
Our ADVANCED course is held on the Farm.
Herbalist Carol Joyce hosts her ADVANCED course on special dates throughout the winter at White Buffalo Herbs.
Our ADVANCED Herbalism course is limited to past Apprentices who have already completed our Herbalism & Stewardship in the Green World.
We delve more deeply into the Green World & spend a lot of time with hands on learning.
Our farm is not yet handicap accessible & the driveway is ½ mile long up a mountain, so requires a decent car or hardy uphill walking. Our farm is easily reached 20 minutes from Athol/Orange, 45 minutes from Greenfield, 1/.5 hrs from Boston, 3 hours from NY City. We have 2 cats in residence.

White Buffalo Herbs is situated in the bottom half of an amazing, hand built, 20-sided ROUND house at Still Willin' Organic Farm. Community Herbalist Carol is also a Creative Facilitator & Strategic Planner who uses her Social Work background to help people with a disability and individuals or agencies create Person-Centered Plans and CIRCLES of Support. She wanted to build a ROUND house in the shape of a CIRCLE because she believes in the power of circles. She has been influenced greatly by wise Lakota elder, Black Elk (see below):
"You have noticed that everything an Indian does is in a circle, and that is because the Power of the World always works in circles, and everything tries to be round..... The Sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars. The wind, in its greatest power, whirls. Birds make their nest in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours....
Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were. The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where power moves." - Black Elk
